The Third Amendment
The Third Amendment to the US Constitution prohibits the government from quartering soldiers in the homes of citizens. Based on a despised practice of the British government before the American Revolution, this ban on quartering seemed necessary at the time of the Framing, but does it have any relevance to our lives today?
In this video, Kim discusses the Third Amendment's past, present and future with constitutional scholars Glenn Reynolds and Jay Wexler.

On this site, leading scholars interact and explore the Constitution and its history. For each provision of the Constitution, experts from different political perspectives coauthor interpretive explanations when they agree and write separately when their opinions diverge.
